YUVENDA Strengthens Information Security: ISO 27001 Certification for the Leipzig Development Site

Developers work diligently at computers in a modern open-plan office with large windows.

Information security is a key component of reliable and future-proof software development at YUVENDA. That is why we are currently preparing the certification of our Leipzig development site in accordance with ISO/IEC 27001. In doing so, we are systematically strengthening our information security management and creating an internationally recognized framework for protecting information, IT systems, and development processes — delivering tangible added value for our customers and partners.

As business processes become increasingly digital and interconnected, the requirements for protecting data, applications, and IT infrastructures continue to rise. Cybersecurity has long since become more than a purely technical responsibility of IT.

For software companies, this means that information security must be firmly embedded within the organization — with clear responsibilities, defined processes, and a systematic approach to managing risks.

This is exactly where ISO/IEC 27001 comes in.

Information Security with a Systematic Approach

ISO/IEC 27001 is an internationally established standard for information security management systems, or ISMS.

The focus is not on a single technical security measure. Rather, the aim is to establish information security as a continuous process — both organizationally and technically.

This includes, among other things:

  • the systematic identification and assessment of information security risks,
  • clearly defined responsibilities and access rights,
  • documented security and development processes,
  • controlled handling of security incidents and vulnerabilities,
  • measures to maintain important business and IT processes,
  • regular review of existing protective measures, and
  • their continuous development.

With the planned certification of the Leipzig development site, YUVENDA is creating a structured and transparent framework for this.

Security Starts with Software Development

YUVENDA Enterprise develops software solutions for business-critical processes — from cash logistics, cash processing, and cash management for cash-in-transit companies and large retail organizations to audit, analytics, and compliance solutions. Our applications are deeply integrated into our customers’ operational workflows and IT landscapes. Accordingly, the requirements for information security, availability, and transparent processes are high.

Information security therefore does not begin only once software is in operation. It affects the entire lifecycle — from development and testing processes to permissions and infrastructure, as well as updates, vulnerability management, and the handling of security events.

The ISO 27001 certification of our Leipzig development site is therefore an important step in anchoring these requirements even more firmly within our organizational structures.

What Does This Mean for Our Customers?

ISO 27001 certification does not only create clear structures internally. It also provides concrete added value for our customers.

Especially when software solutions are deeply integrated into business and IT processes, the information security of the software provider increasingly becomes part of customers’ own risk management.

For our customers, this means in particular:

  • Greater trust through verifiable structures: Security processes, responsibilities, and controls are systematically organized and assessed according to an internationally recognized standard.
  • Support for supplier assessments and audits: ISO 27001 certification can support security reviews, tender processes, and third-party risk management.
  • Greater transparency: Customers receive reliable evidence that information security is not handled selectively, but continuously and systematically.
  • Strengthening the digital supply chain: Systematic information security management on the part of the software provider helps customers assess their own supplier and system risks.
  • Greater reliability for business-critical processes: Clear processes for risk management, permissions, security incidents, and continuous improvement strengthen organizational resilience.

The certification does not replace customer-specific security requirements or individual regulatory assessments. However, it creates a recognized and verifiable framework that further supports collaboration between YUVENDA and its customers.

Information Security in a Changing Regulatory Environment

At the same time, regulatory requirements for cybersecurity and digital resilience in Europe are continuing to evolve.

Regulations such as NIS2, DORA, and the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) apply to different companies, industries, products, and market roles. Which specific requirements apply to a company or individual products depends on the respective classification and scope of application.

Regardless of this specific legal assessment, these developments clearly point in one direction: information security management, risk management, secure software development, vulnerability management, and the resilience of digital processes are becoming increasingly important.

By aligning with ISO/IEC 27001, we are therefore creating a robust foundation for embedding information security in a structured and sustainable way within the organization.

ISO 27001 certification should not be equated with automatic compliance with NIS2, DORA, or the CRA. However, it establishes an internationally recognized management framework on the basis of which security requirements can be systematically assessed and implemented.

Trust Requires Transparent Structures

For YUVENDA, information security means more than protecting individual systems.

It also means making transparent how security is organized: What risks exist? Who is responsible? How are measures reviewed? How do we respond to new threats? And how do we ensure that security requirements remain part of our processes in the long term?

This systematic perspective is a core component of an information security management system in accordance with ISO 27001.

For our customers and partners, this creates additional transparency and trust, especially where digital solutions are deeply integrated into existing business and IT processes.

The Next Step for Our Leipzig Development Site

By preparing for ISO 27001 certification, we are consistently developing our existing security structures at the Leipzig site.

Our goal is not to treat information security as a one-off certification project. What matters most is the continuous improvement process behind it.

Identifying risks. Clearly defining responsibilities. Making security measures transparent. And continuously adapting the organization to new technological and regulatory developments.

The ISO 27001 certification of our Leipzig development site is another important building block in this process — for YUVENDA itself and for our customers’ trust in our solutions and processes.

Security with a Systematic Approach

Digitalization can only succeed in the long term on the basis of trust. And trust is created where security is not left to chance, but systematically organized.

With ISO 27001 for our Leipzig development site, we are consistently continuing along this path — while at the same time strengthening the security and reliability of our collaboration with our customers.
